Between 14 August and 15 September the Developer carried out another Targeted Consultation - the 4th consultation in total
This consultation concerns a single veteran oak tree.
The Applicant claims that the purpose of the proposed amendment is to avoid or minimise the environmental effects of cables on the veteran tree. So they are considering an alternative to a route under the tree and instead suggesting a route around, but still very close to, its northern side.
Between 14 June and 28 July 2024 the Developer carried out a Targeted Consultation.
This listed 57 changes to their plans including a different route across the Thames, changes of boundaries, removal of hedgerows, addition to/removal from small amounts of land to/from the proposal.

HUGE thanks to all of you who sent feedback to PVDP. Whether you wrote 10 words or 10 pages your replies will have to be read and reported by the Developer.
Many responses were incredibly detailed and we are aware of the hours and, in some cases, days and weeks that some have spent in navigating (not for the faint hearted) and studying the PEIR and in constructing detailed, evidential and well argued responses.
Particular thanks go to those experts who agreed to forensically examine a chapter of the PEIR in their area of particular expertise and for providing comprehensive, evidential and in most cases, damning responses!
Regarding our own questionnaire, we are delighted to announce that we have received over 1,300 responses! One key statistic is 91% of respondents are against BWSF, 4% for and 5% unsure. The full report on the Questionnaire will be available on the SBW website when the analysis has been completed in March.
Also, soon to be on the website, are copies of some of the many consultation responses sent to PVDP by SBW, WODC, Parish Councils, CPRE, BBOWT, etc
On 5th February, the WODC Development Control Committee met to discuss the WODC draft response to the consultation. In the public session at the start, our spokesperson, Anthony Thompson, spoke commandingly about our objections and Robert Gunn spoke similarly robustly on behalf of 10 of the affected Parish Councils represented at the meeting.
Planning officer, Andrew Thomson, presented an excellent explanation of the proposals followed by a summary of the PEIR main contents. His presentation is shown here. The Council then debated the WODC Draft response, page by page. The only interventions were to strengthen what was already a strong statement. They voted to agree the draft response instructing the Chair and Vice-Chair to agree the final edits and to submit to PVDP by the deadline of Feb 8th. The WODC final response to the consultation is here shortly
